We just love it when our patients owners come to visit them in the hospital! it helps them recover so much faster as they stress less knowing they have not been abandoned at an unfamiliar place. Hospital StoriesBy Admin1January 20, 2020
A dogs brain releases Oxytocin (the love hormone) when they play with humans or other dogs. Dogs have the same intelligence as a 2 year old, they can understand up to 250 words and phrases and can count to 5! Our furchildren are so much smarter than we think and are so much like us that even their nose prints are as unique as our fingerprints. General StoriesBy Admin1January 8, 2020

This beautiful, innocent soul was thrown out of a car window! as the owner sped off, thankfully a kind member of the public rushed to rescue this poor little angel and brought him straight to us. we are very ecstatic to announce that he has since been adopted and will now get all the love and care he so deserves. A pet is for life! and yet we are overflowing with pets who once had owners. These pets were abandoned. Dumped. Strayed and never looked for or simply handed over as unwanted! we try our best to assure these poor darlings that they are in fact wanted and that they deserve all the love they can get. Of course RESCUED is our favorite breed! so why shop when you can adopt and have your very own rescue breed? We have so many beautiful animals who are looking for a second chance at life and a loving forever home… if you feel like you are in the position to open your heart and home to adopt a rescue, please do not hesitate to contact our adoptions department. Umhle… Since the start of the busy Holiday Season we have offered sanctuary to many unwanted, abandoned and homeless animals. Just the other day Umhle (she was admitted nameless!) was handed over to us by her indifferent owner who was going away for the holidays. She appeared relieved that we would take Umhle and left as quickly as she arrived with no re-assuring words or kind gestures for a very confused Umhle. Whilst we thank Umhle’s owner for not dumping or abandoning her we do wonder what more can be done to stop this annual scourge. If you would like to adopt this gorgeous girl, please contact our adoptions department. Adoption StoriesBy Admin1December 17, 2019
Our team thoroughly enjoyed the 2019 Twilight run and stood united against the scourge of gender based violence and cruelty to animals! Thank you to our friends and partners Rehana Rutti (Marketing and Events – Independent Media) and the Western Cape Community Chest for gifting us free entries to the run.
