Meet two of my cattle kids!

Bibendum or Bibs (named after the Michelin Man) and Ferdinand my Ox.

They are two of my precious little herd of rescued cattle that have the capacity to brighten anyone’s day. They have been described as Ten Tons of Fun and that about sums them up. To see them grazing contentedly amongst the vineyards is awe inspiring.

They have an incredible presence and are so intuitive and gentle. Their favorite grape varietal is Pinotage and every year after harvest time they patiently search the vines for any illusive bunches missed by the pickers – who I am fairly sure leave them the odd bunch. For several days thereafter they walk around the farm with deep purple stained lips that amplify their huge friendly faces.

It is almost as though they are smiling back in appreciation for being offered a second chance.
